Covid-19; 64 new cases in Albania, 2 patients lost their lives in the last 24 hours

The Health Ministry announced today that in the last 24 hours out of 371 tests performed, 64 new positive cases with Covid-19 have been confirmed.

For the fourth week in a row the epidemic continues its serious state of confirmed new cases, cases that have required hospitalization or cases in intensive care.

Another growing trend is the loss of life. All these indicate that the virus is continuing with the same transmission intensity and is presenting cases with clinical signs.

“Therefore, as every day, we address the citizens not to reduce vigilance and implement the established measures, to wear the mask wherever it is not possible to maintain physical distance, and businesses to implement the approved protocols, to protect employees and the citizens they serve.

“In the last 24 hours, referring to the infectious disease service, a 78-year-old patient from Tirana, transferred from a non-public hospital, died at the infectious disease hospital, despite intensive treatment in resuscitation and an 83-year-old patient from Durrës in intensive care who was also suffering from hypertension, died from the decease.

“The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expressed its condolences to the families of the deceased “, said the ministry among other things in their statement.
