The Bogdani Street in Tirana’s capital is also full of betting shops, right in front of secondary schools.
Children play in front of electronic tables placed by betting companies.
In this street there are also large casinos, while many other businesses have been closed and replaced by betting shops.
According to the law, these shops should not be allowed 200 meters from schools and other public, religious institutions.
However, a group of MPs lobbied to change the law, making the distance 100 meters.
The distances are calculated between the closest extremities of two objects, according to Article 7 for gambling.
Within December 31st, operators must take measures about their location.
