The above images are on the coast of Potam in Himara, where last year the propellers of a boat driven by a policeman hit a 7-year-old girl to death, shocking the country.
To prevent such incidents from happening, the border police have increased patrols in the water and along the coast, monitoring the movements of watercraft and the enforcement of the law.
Over the course of a month, the border police report that they have seized 28 watercraft, among them 20 jet-skis and 8 speedboats, which were found with a lack of documentation or performing dangerous maneuvers near the vacationers.
Water vehicle seizures were also carried out in Dhërmi, on the Shkëmbi i Kavaja beach and in Shengjin.
Checks are being carried out not only for entertainment boat but also for others which must comply with the laws in force and be equipped with the necessary documentation.
The police of Shkodër said that they also exercised checks in Lake Koman where they blocked several craft boats and ilegal ferries as they did not offer safety conditions for visitors and were not properly registered.
