The biggest political group at the German parliament, CDU/CSU, has voted in favor of opening the Eu accession negotiations with Albania. 75 votes were in favor and 28 against.

This is the most important political decision, showing that Germany will say yes to Albania’s EU accession negotiations.

As Top Channel had reported a few days ago, there are 9 conditions set to Albania, divided in two blocks.

The priority block has the electoral reform, the establishing of the Constitutional and Supreme Court. The other six points are part of a second block, which should be fulfilled after the negotiations are opened.

The conditions that were reported by journalist Anila Shuka are mainly related to justice and the construction of the institutions that will fight corruption and organized crime.

  1. The establishing of the Special Court Against Corruption
  2. The establishing and operation of the Constitutional Court
  3. Filling the vacancies at the Supreme Court
  4. Starting criminal processes for judges and prosecutors rejected by the Vetting Process
  5. The electoral reform and its implementation
  6. Punishing people involved with vote manipulation
  7. Successful results in the fight against organized crime and corruption
  8. Administration reforms
  9. Clarifying the legitimacy of the elections
