Burrel Chief of Police wounded

The Burrel Chief of Police was shot during a police chase last night and is currently fighting for his life.

He remains under shock even after a long surgery, with most of his vital organs damaged by bullets.

“His situation is problematic, and the doctors were obliged to undertake important surgical interventions”, declared the Democratic Party MP, Tritan Shehu.

“Five organs are damaged and we were obliged to remove one kidney. He has damaged intestines, spleen and stomach. We performed a long surgery from 9 pm to 4 am”, declared Doctor Bardh Kurti.

Interior Minister Flamur Noka declared that Skura will receive specialized treatment in Italy while authorities are conducting thorough investigations.

Musa Skura, Chief of the Burrel Criminal Police, was shot this Sunday during a police operation for the arrest of two suspects. The officers came under fire when confronted with a group of young suspects in Suc village, Mat.

The unit led by Chief Musa Skura blocked the path of a motorcycle which was being used by suspects Fitim Alla and Vilson Milkurti. The criminals opened fire as soon as they were confronted with the police vehicle.

The officers returned fire and as result both Chief Musa Skura and the 19-year-old suspect Fitim Alla were wounded.

Police sources say that the suspect is out of life threatening danger and receiving medical attention at the Burrel hospital. Same sources add that two other suspects are taken under custody, Vilson Milkurti and Riges Lifja, both 20. Police say that their special units are conducting extended searches at the Suc village for other possible ammunition hidden by several persons.
