Bureau of Investigation, Berisha: “Rama is blocking it”. Minister of Interior replies

On behalf of the opposition, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha accused
the majority of blocking the creation of the National Bureau of
Investigation.

“Edi Rama is withholding the National Bureau of Investigation. He lies when he says that Ylli Manjani is being an obstacle, because Manjani accepted the reform which he suggested to the Commission of Venice”, Berisha declared.

Berisha didn’t hesitate to use the Bureau as a diversion between PM Rama and Justice Minister Manjani.

“There is a rule, but you are not a Prime Minister. A Minister that doesn’t respect the will of a Prime Minister is told goodbye. You cannot do it, because you want the Bureau for you”, Berisha declared.

But the Minister of Interior replied by saying that the delays are due to the final touches of the process, and there is no reason to believe that the delay would damage the product.

Spartak Braho, the head of the legal matters at the Socialist Movement for Integration, confirmed for Top Channel that he didn’t understand the delay or why it has remained only as words.

“The Bureau doesn’t need constitutional changes. There could be a special law on which it should work, such as a structure at the Prosecution or Ministry of Interior”, Braho said.

TCH: Are there politicians who fear the creation of this institution?

“I think yes. But don’t ask me about names. The law of decriminalization will select them”, Braho concluded.
