On the third day of the massive anti-cannabis operation in the Dukagjin
area, bullets have been fired again towards the police near the Pult
commune. Luckily, no one was hurt.
Police say they have identified the shooters and have offered 100.000 EUR for any information that could lead to their capture.
Police say that there are 10 people identified from the Pult and Dukagjin commune, Besnard Bungaja, Gjin Guri, Lek Thani, Nikolle Shpati, Pal Dushku, Geg Kola, Mentor Bungaja, Pellumb Dushku, Nik Tonaj, Kol Bungaja.
The RENEA forces are currently searching in the areas where they might be hiding.
Police have called the Head of the Pult commune and the relatives of the shooters for cooperation.
Police have eliminated 41.000 plants of cannabis, while dozens of parcels are being destroyed.
The Police changed the anti-cannabis strategy in norther Albania, after several residents fired live bullets, following the scheme of Lazarat.
Since the terrain is very difficult in this area, additional forces were sent for carrying out an operation that appeared to be bigger than once thought.
The cannabis plantations will be surrounded by the police and then will be eliminated.
Police has planned to take the same actions as in Lazarat, since the last operation was successful.
