Border authorities: 6788 people crossed yesterday to Greece, 1960 with foreign passports

Official data from the state police show that in the last 24 hours the border with Greece, in the Kakavija and Kapshtica points was crossed by 6788 people.

Despite reports of chaotic situations and long queues of vehicles to cross, authorities said the process is not stalled.

Of these 1960 are foreign nationals, mostly Greek nationals or immigrants holding Greek state documents and passports.

But among those who passed there are also Americans, British, French, Poles, or Turks, who had stood in line for hours along with the Albanian migrants, which are the majority of the reportedly over 10 000 people in wait.

4518 citizens have passed through the Kapshtica crossing point, out of which 3452 Albanian citizens with Greek residence permits, 1066 foreign citizens, 1057 of whom with Greek passports, 3 Turks, 2 French and 4 Poles.

2270 persons have passed through Kakavija, out of which 1376 Albanian citizens have residence permits in Greece and 894 foreigners, 877 of whom with Greek passports, one Hungarian, four British, one Montenegrin, two Cypriots, one American and 8 persons from Ukraine and Bulgaria.
