The lifeless body of miner Muharrem Plaku was found Sunday evening tens of meters underground, where it had been trapped for 5 days since the gallery collapsed.
The 60-year-old was technical duty to prepare the ground for colleagues and was among the first to enter a new excavation front.
The collapse of the massif in the private chrome mine in Bulqiza took him down without leaving him any way out. The dead body was taken to the morgue in the early hours of the morning and then withdrawn by family members.
After finding the unfortunate miner’s body, the Bulqiza police detained a 61-year-old man, technical director of the mining entity, and he was prosecuted in a free technical condition for the criminal offense “Violation of the rules of protection at work”.
