The women and girls of the Democratic League of Albanian Women gather to
celebrate the New Year. To the celebrations joined Prime Minister
Berisha, who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Liri Berisha. They wished
a happy new year to all Democrat women.
Berisha valued the role of women and their contribution in the Democratic Party during these 22 years.
“All Democratic Party victories were won first of all by the support of the young and the women of Albania. This is the reality that has been proved. I have had great women collaborators since the first year that I started as a President, and even today. The women have given a great contribution in the reforms for transforming the country with dedication, wisdom and honesty”, Berisha declared.
As for corruption, which he considered a serious problem, Berisha declared that the best medicine is to appoint women in key posts, since their probability for corruption is lower than with men.
As for the electoral campaign of 2013, Berisha declared:
“This is a campaign in which we, as a political force, will present ourselves with achievements that we had never imagined. Being in power has its own problems, but the mandate 2009-2013 is a mandate in which the Democratic Party and the coalition has done more than ever for the wellbeing of the Albanian citizens, for the health service, the roads, the infrastructure and for turning Albania into a developed country”, the Prime Minister added.
