The Meeting of Internal Ministers of the EU is being held in Bratislava,
Slovakia, the country holding the next presidency of the EU.
The member countries are discussing the migration crisis and the propositions for solidarity and cooperation. The parties discussed a package about asylum seeking which will pass soon.
The Deputy Minister of Interior, Elona Gjebrea, met with the Belgian State Secretary for Migration and Asylum, Theo Francken, who said that the Council of State in Belgium has decided that Albania should be removed from the list of safe countries for 2015, something that the State Council has tried in 2012, 2013, 2014. “The Belgian government does not agree with this decision and will include Albania again in the list of safe countries”, Francken said.
