Two women tourists, one Belgian and the other French, were found dead this afternoon in the “Valbona Pass” mountainous area, after an apparent fall while they were exploring the terrain.

The State Police informs that after receiving the information of the accident with the two foreigners, they went to the scene where they were able to find the bodies of the two tourists, who unfortunately lost their lives.

In aid of the police services, the Alpine intervention team was immediately launched from Shkodra, as due to the very difficult terrain and bad weather, the police officers found it impossible to extract the bodies from the abyss. Because of the inclement weather, the helicopter team could not land in the location where the bodies were found.

Despite the difficult territory and bad weather with fog and snow, the Police services found the bodies of two tourists, the Belgian citizen with the initials B. M. and the French citizen J. B.

The investigative group of the Kukës Local Police Directorate is at the scene and under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, is working to clarify the circumstances of this event and to determine the cause of the loss of life of the two tourists.
