Basha: Rama’s model for justice is based on corruption

Lulzim Basha reacted after the press release of Edi Rama, underlining
that the Prime Minister’s model for justice is based on corruption and
controlling the system.

“He spoke for 45 minutes and he avoided the article 88 ten times, which says that if the parties in the political process don’t accept the qualified majority, they may chose a proportional system that guarantees opposition’s representation in the collective institutions. This was not said by the Democratic Party branch in Venice. It was said by the Venice Commission, which doesn’t exist to give control to Lulzim Basha for the justice reform”, he said, adding that he is grateful to those who helped with the reform.

“I want to tell him that the golden standard is the Venice Commission and it cannot be replaced by anyone. Edi Rama knows this and he loves beautiful words. He said there will be no reserved spots, but he said that he is ready to give proportional representation for the two institutions. Isn’t this a partial recommendation of article 88? He accepts it for two, but not for two others. This is the red line, he said. A red line for what? So that Rama can decide which Prosecutor is corrupted and which not?”, Basha declared.
