Basha on UN vote: “It’s wrong. Albania abstained in 2012 with our government”

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, declared that the government made a mistake with the UN vote.

He said that Albania’s abstained in 2012 and that the current government had not been conditioned by the EU.

“Voting against the USA, the government of Albania has voted against the national interests of Albanians. Until today, we have no information that EU has imposed the vote as a condition. So, there was no reason for Albania to change its stance”, Basha said.

The SMI also reacted through the Minister of Integration, Klajda Gjosha, who said that no relation can be compared to that with the USA.

“The Albanian people have never voted against the USA. This government has been divided from the stance of our citizens. Their vote against the USA is a vote against Kosovo”, Gjosha said.
