Democratic Party chairman, Lulzim Basha, accused the ruling coalition of trying to rob next general elections in the country and demanded a caretaker government to be installed insead. Talking to journalists on Tuesday Basha confirmed there will be no more political battles after the approval of the Justice Reform, but insisted that the battle for free and honest elections starts now.
“We have presented our alternative for free elections in what should be a specific electoral reform, but time is running out for our proposal to be implemented because of Edi Rama’s government”, Basha said to reporters. “They are trying to rob and destroy next elections. We are not going to let them pass this red line. Our condition as a warranty for the elections is a caretaker government, which should be named as soon as possible. National security is endangered by drug traffic, unemployment is rising, businesses are closing down, so the country is in a state of emergency”, he added.
