Artists gather today in protest against new National Theater project

As they had warned days ago, artists started gathering in front of the National Theater, opposing its demolition and the government’s plan for a new construction.
Director Altin Basha asked the government to withdraw from the draft-law and invited the local government to dialogue with honesty with artists. Dozens of citizens joined the protest.
The artists met this Thursday with Mayor Veliaj to discuss this matter, but it did nothing to stop the protest.
The Democratic Party is also against the project. The opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, published his support on social networks.
