Arjan, the blind lawyer of Belsh

Arjan Hysa has been working for the last year to help his citizens, and his dedication remains the same.

“It’s the first time that the administration has a disabled employee. For me it was something great. I’m led by optimism and persistence. So far, things have gone right, although I have felt a few problems with the Albanian mentality”, he declared.

The Mayor of Belsh is the employer who took the risks with him.

“Citizens are happy with his work and I think that no one is better to deal with the problems of disabled people”, declared Mayor Asqeri Kuqja, once a doctor in the area.

Arian is also a good husband and father. His wife, Siljana, with whom he has a two year old daughter, says she felt he was the one since the beginning, and that she sees no disability on her husband, for as long that he has a great personality.

Arjan lost his sight when he was two years old, in a house accident, while his desire to attend law school was inspired by the Italian TV Show “La Piovra”.

“I competed for the right to study with a video tape. The professors gave me the questions, I taped them and answered on an audio recorder, which was then sent to the Commission”, he declared.
