The Albanian Army has a battalion that was certified by NATO experts.
The decision was taken after the “Albania Lion/Biza 18 training”, attended by 1200 troops and military vehicles.
The Albanian Defense Minister, Olta Xhacka, declared that the Armed Forces have marked a turning point, now being equal among equals.
For Minister Xhacka, the certification shows that Albania has accomplished the most important part of its obligations towards NATO, the Capacity Objectives.
“This is a historic event in our relations with the alliance”, Xhacka said, congratulating the staff for the achievement and announcing that the ongoing ambition is a full modernization of the army structures.
