Eurostat has published the final report for the asylum seekers that were
registered in the EU during 2015. Figures show that there have been
1255600 applications in total, in 28 EU countries, mainly from Syria,
Iraq and Afghanistan.
Albanians make 5% of the total, with 65.935 requests. Germany is the most favorite country, followed by France and Sweden. In Germany, Albania is listed second after Syria with 12% of the total, 53.508 requests only in 2015. In France Albanians make 4% of the applications, with 3220 requests, and in Sweden 3.9%, with 2565 requests.
Eurostat asys that there are 1 million other requests waiting for an answer, mainly in Germany. Before 2015, there were only half of it.
