On the Independence Day, the Red and Black Alliance reported the arrest of three Albanians in Macedonia.

According to the RBA, the Tetovo and Dibra e Madhe residents, in Macedonia, were arrested by the Macedonian Authorities for celebrating the Independence Day with Albanian symbols.

The Red and Black Alliance requests the immediate release of the three arrested persons, by adding that this is a serious violation of the Albanian Macedonian citizens. RBA demands official Tirana to react. According to them, the Albanian state must pressure Skopje to respect the rights that the Albanians have to use their national symbols.

The Macedonian authorities declared that the Albanians have been released and that they will be under investigation for violating laws. According to the authorities, the Albanian citizens have offended the Macedonian Constitution with their chants.

This is the ultimate incident in Macedonia when the Albanians’ rights have been violated. Some weeks ago, the xenophobic chants of the Macedonian football fans were heard in the local stadiums, even during the friendly match between Macedonia and Albania in Prilep. The local fans, who call themselves “The Monkeys”, launched anti-Albanian chants and there was no reaction by the official Tirana.
