After the Greek Foreign ministry claimed yesterday that the Albanian
government may be using the Himara regulation plan to shift attention
away from the scandal with former Interior Minister Tahiri, the Albanian
Foreign Ministry reacted today, considering this a provocation and
unprecedented intervention in the internal matters of Albania.
“Being involved in an internal political debate is a direct violation of diplomatic practices, the spirit of good neighboring and of strategic relations.
According to the Albanian Foreign Ministry, the Greek counterparts are trying to deform reality through the law of minorities and the urban plan for Himara.
The Albanian Foreign Ministry added that the government offered them register the property and make them eligible for full compensation.
The Law for Minorities, the Foreign Ministry continues, guarantees the human rights of minority members and expresses their readiness to discuss open relations between both countries.
