Albanian government decides to close the Turkish college financed by dissident Fejtulla Gulen

The Council of Ministers took the decision to close the Turkish non-public college “Mehmet Akif Ersoy”, part of the Gulistan foundation supported by Fejtulla Gulen, the Turkish philanthropist now wanted by Ankara.

The decision was taken 10 days after the opening of the academic year, while the college staff is asked to equip all students with the necessary documentation for their transfer to other schools.

The Educational Directorate of Tirana has been asked to organize the transfer of the students. The school being closed is required to cover all costs for the transfer of students and to return the tuition payments made by parents for the new academic year.

The private college “Mehmet Akif Ersoy” in Tirana, is part of the Gulistan foundation supported by Fejtulla Gülen, the Turkish philanthropist now wanted by Turkey.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan had made the request to Albania, to close the schools of his political rival’s foundation.
