The CEC started today testing new advanced appliances in voter identification.
In the presence of representatives of political parties, the OSCE and representatives of embassies, the CEC demonstrated the use of electronic voter identification equipment.
The device displays photos to the voter and his personal data.
The voter places his fingerprint and then the form which is kept by the commission is printed from the device, while the voter then heads to the ballot box.
If a voter appears for a second time, the moment his ID card is inserted the device issues an alarm, while in cases where the ID card is damaged and the device can not read it, then the number is inserted manually.
