Alba Kokalari is the first person of Albanian origin sitting at the European Parliament.
An European MP for Sweden, she has promised to be the voice of Sweden in EU’s most important institution.
She will also be a voice for the Albanians, who have their eyes turned towards their fellow citizen.
Kokalari, who won through the Moderate Party, was born in Tirana and has emigrated to Sweden together with her family.
The 32-year-old is the niece of Musine Kokalari, who also was one of Albania’s first female writers and politician, avid against the communist regime.
