The Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, said that consumption has
increased with 1.2 in foods, while there is a drop of 0.6% in the other
countries of the region.
Ahmetaj says that unemployment has dropped with 4.8%, at 17.1% in total which remains high, according to the Minister, but the dropping trend is related to the improved business climate.
The Minister reports positive data from exports too, which were increased with 1.5% for April, while imports grew with 10.2% due to the TAP Pipeline construction materials.
Consumer loans, according to the head of Finances, has stopped at 12.6%, while business loans are still low but with a positive trend.
When asked by Top Channel if salaries and pensions will be raised in June, the Minister left to be understood that this would not happen.
Present in this conference was the IMF representative, Jens Reinke.
