A group of robbers in Fushe Kruje was arrested by Police Investigation
and Crime Prevention Department, who were able to seize illegal firearms in the
residence of one of the criminals.
The operation code named “Night wanderers” took under police custody three members of the band, while a fourth one was left free while being investigated. The robbers who were caught in the act had turned into a nightmare for many Fushe Kruje businesses, where crime against private property has significantly increased in the recent months.
Kruje Police Department caught in the act the 21 year old Artan Caka and the 20 year old Kujtim Leka from Thumana village while robbing a quantity of petrol from the gas tank of a vehicle. After searching the residence of Mersin Leka, the father of one of the arrested, the Police found and seized two firearms: one AK-47 and one rifle, and also several stolen tools and equipments.
The Police declared that they were able to prove five of the robberies committed by the three robbers in Fushe-Kruje and the surrounding villages, while they are still investigating for the other cases.
