The State Road Authority requested an additional 30 million EUR for
unblocking the work of the Tirana-Elbasan highway. The work has been
interrupted two years ago, after a conflict between the government and
the company for who would pay the damage caused by landslides that
blocked it.
“We need additional funds for this, a total of 30 million EUR for the landslide from km 12 to the entrance of the tunnel, says Aksel Qorduka, Director of the project.
Dorduka underlines that the quality of the company is weak. “In 13 kilometers there are 5 landslides. It is a very problematic segment. Everyone has a bit of blame in this, from the quality of the project, its implementation and the contractor. Now we are in a phase when we need to confront with all of these problems”, Qorduka said.
