Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has published the current tourism statistics saying that 8.5 million tourists have visited Albania until August of this year, an increase from 7.5 that resulted a year ago.

There have also been tourists from distant countries, such as Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Australia or Azerbaijan, who chose to visit our country, he adds.

“Tourism continues to be consolidated by attractions and characteristic markets, which have also attracted tourists from distant and non-typical countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Canada, New Zealand and Australia or Azerbaijan, China and Japan. These numbers also translate into promotion for Albania, as the tourist year still continues with groups enjoying areas from the northern Alps to the cultural sites, historical forts, without forgetting the fantastic food and the Albanian hospitality of the hoteliers that makes us proud”, wrote Rama.
