An additional 40 million ALL will be provided by the government in subsidies to farmers who applied this year through the e-Albania portal.

This stated the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Bledi Çuçi adding that this fund will cover almost 95% of about 8 thousand applicants, who have no shortcomings in their pre-defined criteria.

“I thank once again all those farmers who applied for the National Scheme this year, a scheme which is proving successful. About 95% of applicants will benefit from the subsidy”, said Çuçi.

The Minister was in Tragjas, Vlora to support the vaccination campaign of cattle against brucellosis, a process carried out by the Veterinary Service, which is already being reorganized after the adoption of the new law in Parliament.

“Vaccination of cattle will be done free of charge by the Veterinary Service, which will be totally reorganized thanks to the adoption of the latest law in Parliament. This service will be completely restructured by turning it into a pyramid under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. This service is very important for food safety”, said Minister Çuçi.

About 400,000 heads of cattle will be vaccinated for brucellosis across the country, while about 178,000 vaccines will be given for the southern regions of Fier, Vlora and Gjirokastra. The new law on the Veterinary Service also provides for the employment of about 400 veterinarians across the country.
