The dead body of a 33 year old from Verdove, Pogradec, was pulled out
ruins of a mining gallery after 21 hours, where he was looking for scrap
metal.
Gerald Xhukellari entered the abandoned gallery to collect metal, but was removed dead only this Thursday. His body was pulled out by the Mine Inspection and Salvation Department, after he was found dead by methane gas, 1500 meters deep inside the abandoned gallery.
The report was made at the Pogradec Police by the father, who said that his son had went to the mine at 16:00 and never returned.
The family explained that they were facing difficult conditions, and the young man risked his life for entering this gallery.
The 33-year-old father of two children had just returned from emigration.
