Thousands of young Democratic Party supporters gathered in the campus of
the Tirana University, to commemorate February 20th 1991, when
thousands of students marched to Tirana’s centre and removed the
monument of Enver Hoxha, Albania’s former dictator.

To the crowd that welcomed him with cheers, the Prime Minister declared that he valued maximally the great sacrifice of the students.

“Eternal honour to the students who contributed for freedom; eternal honour to the hundreds of thousands of Tirana citizens and Albanians who brought down the harshest dictatorship in Europe, who brought down the statue of Enver Hoxha, the Hitler of the Albanains”, Berisha declared.

The last two decades were not easy, but we must be proud for our achievements. Berisha mentioned the three laws that the Socialist Party did not vote, and called the opposition the builders of the wall of shame. Berisha also gave a message for the elections of June.

“The Albanians will vote on June 23rd in favour of their European integration, for their freedom and rights, for a developed Albania. We are the change.  We will win! Forward”, Berisha declared.

In this activity was also present Eduard Selami, one of the founders of this political force, who returned from America to become part of the Democratic Party for the elections of June 23rd.
