Hospitals of main Albanian cities are short of 200 specialist doctors.
People with heart diseases from Korce, Lushnje or Fier, will have to go
to the “Nene Tereza” hospital center for treatment.
This lack of services has devaluated the regional hospitals and has brought a huge flux at the Nene Tereza hospital.
“200 doctors will be distributed through this scheme. 100 in the first phase, there where they are mostly needed”, says Milva Ikonomi, Deputy Health Minister.
The data for employing the first 100 doctors will be processed in early November. The new doctors that will be allowed will have a 10.000 ALL bonus.
“The Tirana University Hospital Center must also serve in the research area. There should be a balance. The goal is to improve the referring system and the TUHC must have bigger role in the academic and research areas”, Ikonomi says.
The lack of these services for a long time has created an inaccurate referring of the number of patients who have not received the required services that are vital for their health.
