Another 20 people have been infected with Covid-19 across our country in the last 24 hours. According to the Ministry of Health, the new cases were reported in Tirana, Durres, Kruja and Kamza.
In total, 1184 COVID19-positive cases have been reported across our country since the beginning of the epidemic. 253 cases are currently active in Albania, while 8% of which are being treated in hospital.
Mirela Cami, Director of Health Care Services in the Ministry, among other things stated:
“In the last 24 hours, 297 tests were performed, of which 20 positive cases were confirmed, respectively 15 in Tirana, 2 in Kruja, 2 in Durrës, and 1 case in Kamza.
“65 health personnel were tested, of which 4 were positive.
“The cases identified in the last 24 hours are mainly contacts of cases discovered by the investigation, and some new cases for which the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
“At the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 21 people are currently being treated, 5 of whom are in intensive care, one intubated. About 8% of active sufferers are being treated in hospital, the rest are being followed by family doctors.
“In the last 24 hours, 7 citizens have recovered, bringing the number of recovering to 898.
“Since the beginning of the epidemic, over 16,500 molecular and serological tests have been performed and 1184 cases have been confirmed positively”.
