The summer season and especially the month of July has marked the highest number of road accidents in Albania.
The average number of accidents in this period has increased this year, reaching 12 road accidents per day, while in special cases the figure goes higher.
The head of the National Emergency Dr. Skënder Brataj says that in this vacation period, in addition to the increase in movements and the number of cars on the road, the damage to people is greater as the vehicles are filled with more citizens than is allowed.
In order to protect the children, but also himself, Brataj advises citizens to respect the traffic rules and to pay more attention while driving.
“Be careful with alcohol use, put on seat belts, put on child seats”, says Brataj, adding that injuries and invalidation of persons have high costs for the family and the whole society.
