Lazarat, besides being a cultivator of hashish, is also a processing center. Thousands of people go each day there to work.
While the state is doing nothing about this phenomenon, it is up to the hospital doctors to treat the professional diseases of these workers. 700 people, mainly women, have gone to hospital for intoxication from marijuana.
ER doctor Hysni Lluka says that there have been even cases of cardio-vasculary attacks.
The age of these patients varied from 14 to 65 years, and the number of underage children goes at 40%. There are at least 2000 workers going daily in Lazarat.
