Zejmen residents clash with the police

30/10/2012 00:00

Hundreds of residents in Zejmen, Lezhe, blocked the national road and
clashed with the police. They are protesting for the blackout that has
been present in their village for three weeks, although they have paid
the energy bills systematically.

The residents blocked the Lezhe-Fushe Kruje highway, but first they met with the police resistance.

According to the residents, this situation is intolerable for the Albanian states, when more than 80% of the residents are regular energy payers.

Revolted by the negligence of CEZ Distribution, they have asked the intervention of state institutions, so that this situation comes to an end.

The police have taken many of the residents under custody. This is the second protest,  while the residents warn for an escalation.
