Strongly promoted by the majority and several analysts, Xhezair Zaganjori has taken his candidacy for president very seriously.
Today he entered the Socialist Party headquarters, where he med the Socialist leader, Edi Rama.
This meeting was asked by him and Rama welcomed him, for telling the international and domestic factors that he has no complexes meeting with the candidates for president, as he did with Fatos Nano. The meeting lasted a full hour, and while leaving, Zaganjori gave this comment:
“We have had an acquaintance from a distance and today we simply introduced ourselves more closely. I described him the reasons why I decided to run and that it wasn’t that easy for me. That’s all. I thought that it serves to the debate and the process. I asked the meeting with Rama. I didn’t ask his support and he had no obligation to give me an answer”.
After Zaganjori, Rama left the Socialist headquarters for his activity of June 1st, the Children’s Day. The details about the meeting were made public through a press release.
According to the press release, Rama welcomed Zaganjori with his request, and heard his opinion about his candidacy for president, and Rama declared Zaganjori that the Socialist Party keeps looking for the process that has been absent so far, and where all parliamentary parties will be included in a constructive dialogue.
For the Socialist Party it is clear that the name of the candidate must come after a concrete dialogue between the government and the opposition and the intensive meeting between the Parliamentary parties, and not vice versa.
For this reason, the Socialist Party will not support any candidacy that has been presented without a process and in a very unilateral way by the government. This goes not only for Zaganjori’s candidacy, but for every other that will be presented by the government without a concrete dialogue.
After the meeting, Zaganjori also met with the leader of the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity, Shpetim Idrizi, in a suburb bar, far from the media.
