Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The director of the World Bank in Tirana, Kseniya Lvovsky, commented in
an interview for Top Channel the report “how to make business” and its
special mentions for Albania.
“Albania has made good progress in protecting the investors and loan access, and there have also been improvements in a number of indicators, assessed in our report. At the same time, the report identifies a number of fields that need more work to be done. This also includes the fields in which Albania has progressed, such as the property registration or other areas. However, it is important that in our assessment Albania has been making and continues to make strong reforms”, Lvovski declared.
But which are the fields that damage the business climate in the country, for which Albania is left much behind by other countries that compete in the global markets of investments?
“The report brings some important conclusions, such as the need for continuing the improvement of the property registration, an area in which although there are improvements, Albania still remains much behind and there is still room for improvements. The construction permits, the tax payment and the energy supply are other fields in which Albania has still much to do”, the director declared.
The business report published by the World Bank focuses only on a specific number of indicators that affect the business climate. But there is another factor that the report doesn’t assess, but that the business climate in the Albania is carrying it as a burden for a long time.
“The political stability is important for everything, including private investments. I am saying what the World Bank and the international community has been saying for a long time. The excessive and extremist politicization is not good for the economic development of a country”, Lvovski declared.
