The Albanian authorities were notified by Italian authorities for the 613 kg of cocaine, as verified for Top Channel by secure sources.

In January, when the container with 20 tons of bananas was at the Livorno Port, the Customs authorities have had suspicions. They have notified the receiving country, Albania, although the container continued to travel to Malta and then to Durres.

According to the Prosecution, the Tirana Customs has been notified on February 27th, the same date when the Customs of Durres had notified the prosecution and police.

The operation has then continued at the warehouse in Maminas. The two persons who were arrested, are suspected of international drug traffic, while two others are on the run.

The uncle of Armando Pezaku claims that his nephew is innocent.

“He has been working for the past 6 months with the containers and he has nothing to do”, he said.

The lawyer of Donaldo Lushaj also claimed that his client is not involved.

“He was just hired for 25,000 ALL a month”, said Maks Haxhia.
