The Bulqize Miners boycotted the work today in sign of protest for the
tragedy of one day ago. They also attended the funeral ceremony of their
colleague that lost the life in the recent accident, Naim Shyti.
The miners haven’t worked since the accident, while the Bulqize Mine Directory is being inspected by Diber prosecutors, who seized all documentation related with the work in the galleries that have been given in concession to the ACR Company.
The miners entered the gallery on October 18th for conducting the ventilation process, during which took place the hydrogen explosion that was released from inside the gallery.
Meanwhile, the Mine Inspection and Salvation specialists have been unable to enter the gallery, since the hydrogen level was at dangerous levels. High hydrogen levels have also been noted before the miners entered the gallery.
Explosion in Bulqize, one miner dead
There’s no rest for the Bulqize miners. A grave accident has taken place this Tuesday morning, which left one miner dead and wounded 9 others, while they were working at the 16th level. It is suspected that the cause was a gas explosion at the gallery they were working in.
Latest information suggest that the miner that passed away is the 39-year-old Naim Shyti. The wounded miners are in serious conditions for their life.
The emergency units have arrived on the site and are transporting the wounded miners to the hospital, while waiting a helicopter from Tirana to give them a more specialized treatment in the capital.
There are still no other details about this tragic event.
