The political party leaders expressed their readiness to implement the
Electoral Code in the next elections, in which the political
representation by women should be at least 30%.

The Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, supported this initiative by underlining that women are more creative.

“A famous Chinese writer, who addresses to femininity with great respect, says that the most substantial part in the differences between men and women is that women are creative, while men are usually more destructive. Your commitment in the political and public life has a great significance. I am convinced that you think about the children, the future and the families. By thinking about this, you have thought about the Albanian society and state”, Topalli declared.

The Socialist leader, Edi Rama, declared that working with women is more constructive and that their low representation in politics comes due to the lack of their candidacies in the local districts.

“There is an extraordinary barrier that should be demolished at any cost, for involving in politics women that live especially in the Albanian suburbs, for getting them involved in the social life and then in the political one, as consequence. I agree with Jozefina that women are creative, but let us not consider men destructive, but at least as collaborators. Certainly, there are destructive men, and exactly for this there must be more creative women in politics”, Rama declared.

The Socialist Movement for Integration leader, Ilir Meta, has also supported this initiative:

“The day when our Parliament will be balanced, with our women playing their role with strength and wisdom, for the future of our country, is very near.”

This activity concluded with the changes that the experts asked in the changes of the Electoral Code, in which no party list should be certified without publishing all names forst and without implementing the Electoral Code, where women’s participation will be 30%.
