Women dance against violence

Hundreds of young people danced in Tirana’s main boulevard under the “Break the Chain” tunes.

The Parliament Speaker made an appeal to stop violence against women.

“1 billion women throughout the world experience violence during their life. Violating 1 billion woman is barbarity. 1 billion women rising is a revolution. Every woman, every mother reminds what each of us has inside to make a change. We are prepared for life and love on the day of love”, Topalli declared.

Representatives of the civil society declared that one in three experience violence in Albania and 40 women have been killed only in the last two years.

“This is an international activity against domestic violence. The message on this day is against the domestic violence, especially against women. We are holding this protest in Albania against the murder of 40 women only for the last two years”, declared Mirela Arqimandriu, civil society representative.
