Women make more than half of the population in the world, and are the
main educators of the new generation. But few of them have the
opportunity to access scientific researches.
Women in the history of the world have conducted important scientific researches for the entire humanity, while in Albania their progress in this path is still slow.
“Albania has 500 honored professors, most of them are present in this meeting. They’re distinguished scientists that make all of us proud with their achievements. Gender equality remains a challenge for the Albanian society and we are aware about this fact. The education of women, the suppot of the gender equality in the education system is a way to overcome such challenges”, declared Ardian Tana, vice Minister of Education.
“Science is the key of knowledge. For women to access knowledge and reach gender equality, they must access science to the same level as men. The world needs science and science needs women”, declared Rosanna Santesso, UNESCO representative.
In this meeting was demanded the empowerment of women and scientific research, which is difficult to be conducted in Albania for lack of funds.
