100 lawyer women gathered for the 100th year of independence. This
initiative aims to promote the role of women in the decision making
process.

They also discussed one of the hottest topics for the moment, the immunity of high rank officials, politicians and judges. The Deputy Minister of Justice, Brikena Kasmi, declared during this meeting that the approval of the Constitutional amends is essential against corruption, especially in the justice system.

Kasmi appealed the opposition to join the legal initiative in Parliament for voting these amends.

“We were 100 women in the 100 year of independence, and we unanimously appeal Mr. Rama to let the opposition MPs to pass the Constitutional amends. Let’s say ‘yes’ to war against corruption, corruption and the perception of corruption in the Albanian judiciary. We are late in the war against corruption and the lifting of immunity”, Deputy Minister Kasmi declared.

This initiative was supported by the UN organizations that aim to improve gender equality.
