“My husband is violent against me and my daughter. He wants us to cover
ourselves and doesn’t allow us in public places without his permission”.
“This is part of the suit of a 30-year-old who asked immediate protection from the Court of Tirana.
On March Seventh, the Teachers’ Day, made the mother of two say enough to domestic violence and ask protection from the court, after she had gone out with her daughter to buy flowers for her teacher.
The woman claims that she is suffering violence from her husband, because he thinks that she should cover herself. The lawyer of the two women made an announcement for Top Channel.
“The woman suffered systematic violence based on religion. They were asked to cover and stay all the time at home. On Monday we will have a decision for this matter”, declared lawyer Denisa Daka.
Dozens of lawsuits are deposited on domestic violence, and a Judge will be ready to review the case even on Sunday.
There have been several requests for protection against domestic violence, but this is the first time that it is based on religion.
