A 30-year-old pregnant woman and her child were saved thanks to a
specialized intervention of the “Sanatorium” doctors in cooperation with
“Koco Glozheni” Maternity specialists.

“I couldn’t breathe and I lost consciousness when I arrived here”, declared Patris Nika, the mother.

The young mother was brought one week ago at the sanatorium and kept breathing through the help of machines, to the point that doctors were thinking if they would chose to save the baby or the mother.

“The mother was in a very difficult situation, and the baby had very low heartbeats. She gave birth in a great state of emergency. The baby’s heart had 30-40 heartbeats per minute when he was born and now it has reached 140. We sent the baby to the reanimation where she recovered, waiting for the mother to come out of the hospital”, declared Rubena Moisiu, director of the “Koco Glozheni” maternity.

“The mother had great breathing problems, suffering from lungs and heart issues. She is under treatment”, says Epaminonda Fube, Director of the Sanatorium.

Health Minister Vangjel Tavo visited the mother who is being treated by the Sanatorium doctors.

“The problem was very serious and thanks to a good cooperation between the sanatorium and maternity teams, they were able to save two lives”, Tavo declared.

Thanks to the intervention, Patris will soon meet her first child, Klea.
