Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Today ended the witness interrogation deadline for the trial of the former Deputy Prime Minister, Ilir Meta.
Besides the testimony of Dritan Prifti, which is the reason of this trial, all others were in favor of the defendant Ilir Meta.
The two Tola Brothers declared that their company had spent 700.000 EUR for the preliminary preparation and the wage of the experts who would be taking care of the paperwork of the Librazhd Hydro Power Plant concession.
The two other witnesses declared that they were shareholders with 5 or 10% in this concessionary agreement, and that they would make studies for the construction of the HPP, without being paid for their service. According to the prosecution, the representative of a Hungarian company that owns 20% of the shares of the same hydropower plant had changed the declaration in court, after having initially declared that their owners had not made any expenses.
In court he argued that he was just loyal to the Hungarians who simply signed, without knowing anything about the expenses.
The trial continued with the administration of the proofs, as requested by the prosecution, which are the main part of the process. The prosecution asked the laptop, USB, the camera-clock and a DVD of the Top Story program on Top Channel, where the Meta-Prifti conversation was broadcasted full.
The request for administering the watch as proof was rejected by the defense. The Supreme Curt decided to announce in the next session if the request will be accepted or not.
