CEZ, the energy distribution Company in Albania, warns that the days to
follow could bring problems with the electric power supply, due to the
low temperatures and icy days.
The Distribution Director, Admirim Lakra, appeals all consumers to be careful with the energy consumption.
“The weather conditions put to difficulties even big western countries, not only us who have inherited a much damaged network. The next days will create difficult situations for the power supply, although we have taken all measures”.
As regards the problems at the Kacinari commune, identified by Top Channel’s program “Shqiperia Sot”, which showed that two villages were without electric power for several months, CEZ says that the problem is solved.
“The entire village in question was in debt with the company, but we discussed with the commune and the transformator was changed”, Lakra declared.
Some areas of the country had power supply interruption in the last month, which according to CEZ has happened due to the defects in the network, also caused by the high consumption and bad weather. However, the company leaders say that the number of defects has been low and they have been repaired in a very short time.
