Wife of January 21st victim, Alma Veizi: “I lost trust on justice”

Alma Veizi, wife of the late Ziver Veizi, a protester killed on January 21st
by the former National Guard officer, Agim Llupo, appeared at the first
trial session together with her children, Ana and Klajdi. She sued the National
Guard and the Interior Ministry.

She demands compensation, but the preliminary session lasted only a few minutes, since Alma Veizi requested a suspension until her son returns from Turkey. The request was accepted.

“I have sued the National Guard and the Interior Ministry, but I suspended the lawsuit”, she says.

After the Supreme Court rejected the Prosecution’s request for sentencing Agim Llupo and Ndrea Prendi to 25 and 23 years in prison respectively, Alma Veizi says she lost her trust in the judiciary.

“This is a ridiculous verdict. No one trusts justice. This is a huge shock. Four people were killed on the boulevard”, Alma said.

On the other hand, the Administrative Court has received a lawsuit from the relatives of Faik Myrtaj, who also want a compensation.
