Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Socialist Councilors at the Tirana Municipality asked the Tirana
Mayor to make public the project for the enlargement of the Elbasan
Road.
Aldrin Dalipi underlined that the Tirana citizens have all the rights to have information about the public projects that are related with their everyday life.
“There is no political conflict, but only the citizens’ interest, which is to know every project in the territory where they live. We don’t have an answer from the Tirana Municipality about this”, declared the head of the Socialist Councilors at the Tirana Municipal Council, Aldrin Dalipi.
The Socialist Councilors reminded the Mayor that this project should have been discussed first at the Municipal Council.
“We don’t know what will happen at the National Park territory that has been destroyed. They say that there will be a road, but we don’t have its project. We don’t know what will happen there. Will there be apartment buildings? Will there be hidden interests hidden behind, or actions that are on the interest of the citizens?”, Dalipi declared.
A few days ago, some environmentalists and cultural heritage representatives asked the local administration to publish the projects for the enlargement of the Elbasan Road and to keep all cultural heritage constructions untouched, such as the “Palace of Brigades” fortress and the Martyrs’ Cemetery.
A protest of the civil society is expected this Thursday, who will ask the implementation of the law and the preservation of the cultural heritage.
